About

Hi Beauties! My name is Kori and I currently reside in the Washington DC area where I was born and raised.  I started The Curved Life so that women can feel good with their style no matter the size.  I have a full time career as a Systems Analyst but I’ve fallen in love with blogging and having an outlet to be creative.  I’m also excited to meet new people and learn all I can along the way.  The plus size fashion world has grown so much over the years and we still have a long way to go but I hope this will be a place where someone can gain some ideas and tips to look their best.  With that said, let’s love life’s curves!

FAQs

What size are you?

This all depends on the store, brand, material, time of day etc LOL! My closet ranges from a 12 to 18.  I am a strong 16 however in some stores I am a 14 and in others I may have to try on an 18.  It really depends.  I have to try on everything and I advise you all to do the same!

How tall are you?

I’m 5′ 2″ Shorty doo-whop!

Where do you like to shop?

I have a full blog post on my favorite places to shop that goes more in depth here .  For the most part I like to shop EVERYWHERE! My go-to places are ASOS, the GAP, Macy’s, Nordstrom, Missguided, Eloquii, Boohoo, Ann Taylor, The Loft, H&M just to name a few.  When sales are poppin I also love Anthropologie, Zara, and Bloomingdales.

How would you describe your style?

I would say its comfortable chic! I love being comfortable but also giving a little something extra.  Black is my best friend.  There isn’t anything in my closet that doesn’t go perfectly with a pair of black pants no matter the style.

What is your style staple?

There are so many things I think everyone should own but the one thing that I would say above anything is a nice tailored pair of jeans! No rips, medium to dark.  We have to start investing in those jeans that will last us for years and years!  And make our butt look like yassssssss!

Who is your fashion inspiration?

Kim Kardashian duh! No it really isn’t but I draw inspiration from a lot of people.  I absolutely love Tracee Ellis Ross and her cool style.  Solange is always dope.  To be honest some of the flyest styles are found on the street.

Is blogging your full time job?

I could only wish! No, I am a full time Systems Analyst by day and have been for over 8 years now.  I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and a Master’s in Contracts and Procurement.  Can we give it up to black educated women!
