I love fashion and style. I love watching the trends change and researching what’s going to be the next big thing. I don’t always follow the trend but I do want to stay informed just because I love the craft. It’s funny to see how styles we once regarded as ugly or claimed we would never wear is now the new “in” craze. This is also why my number one rule for finding your own personal style is to find what YOU like and work with it. If I said it once I’ll say it again, there is no point feeding into trends and buying pieces of clothing if you can’t think of at least 3 ways to incorporate it in your current wardrobe. We sometimes fall into the trap of seeing something in the mall or online and impulse buying because it was “cute” or we think we need it in that moment. I’ll admit it I’ve done it countless times. This is a part of the reason why we go through the “I have nothing to wear” phase. Did I just think of another blog post? I think so! So I’ll save the rest of my thoughts for a post dedicated to that but the moral is don’t let magazines and the internet dictate your closet. If you like something get it! Play with trends but be cost efficient as well. Most importantly, don’t get stressed out because fashion is about having fun!
With all that being said, if you don’t know by now, florals are really huge not only this season but it seems for many seasons passed. It doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere! I really only stand by those trends that I absolutely love and this one of them. When you think of florals for fall and winter think of darker and more muted tones than your pastels and brights for spring. I thought this dress was perfect with its dark background but played up the girliness with the white and blush flowers. It’s a perfect blend. I also loved the midi length which looks great with boots! I’m at boots girl FYI!
