Welcome to The Curved Life

I’m just a curvy girl living in a pretty straight size world!  I’ve always had “a passion for fashion” but I’ve also been curvy or plus size my entire life.  This left me very little room to actually express my love for styling or go shopping in the stores where the cute clothes were.  Growing up in the 80s and 90s, options for anyone over a size 8 were scarce unless you wanted to wear ugly patterns and shop in the men’s section (which I have to admit I do today because the men’s section is poppin).  It wasn’t until I started working in retail (shout out to The Gap!) that I discovered if I wanted to dress well I would have to play with what I got! If that means getting that ugly shapeless blazer in Macy’s Women’s section and putting a belt around it to make it flattering, so be it.  I started getting compliments.  People wanted to know where I shopped and to my surprise they wanted my advice.  God gives us all talents.  Some of which we don’t recognize because it comes natural to us.  This was me.  I searched high and low trying to figure out my purpose in life.  Could it be something as simple as fashion and styling?  What I realized was, it may not be as simple as I think to some.  That’s when The Curved Life was born!

I want this blog to be a place where curvy girls like myself can come and seek inspiration and advice! The plus size fashion world has grown so much over the past decade and the options for us are there.  We just have to put in the work to find it.  Well in this case I’ll do the work and bring it to you.  Let’s be clear on something before we go further, I’M NO EXPERT by any means.  I’m a normal woman.  I have a Computer Science degree and I work a regular 9-5 – probably just like you.  I just absolutely love clothes and I think I have a pretty good eye on how to put it together.  This is a place where you can hopefully develop your own style as I have.

What’s my style you ask?  Well that I’m sure you will soon see but if I had to describe it – casual affordable chic! I love being comfortable and I love finding good deals! Oh and all things black. Black is the perfect way to look chic and like you spent more on your outfit than you did.  Don’t get it twisted I will doll it up and give the people what they want!  I also love designer things and I follow what’s “on trend” but if I like it I buy it.  To me, fashion has no limits.  Do what makes you happy and feel good.

Overall I hope you enjoy and get something out of your visit.  If you have any questions for me or want to connect, please visit the Contact page or follow me on social media! I want us to grow together and most of all I want us to love life’s curves!

Love Kori
